Free transportation due to earthquake

Until December 31, 2026 HŽ Putnički prijevoz continues to provide free transport to residents affected by the earthquake in the area of Sisak-Moslavina County.

Residents affected by the earthquake in the Sisak-Moslavina County are entitled to free transport with a ticket valid in the 2nd class of regular trains on all routes in domestic traffic.

To be eligible for a ticket for an unlimited number of trips, it is necessary to have a HŽ Putnički prijevoz smart card with a profile/ticket, which can be purchased at the ticket office for the price of EUR 2.65. Writing to the smart card will be enabled starting July 1, 2026.

Passengers who do not have a profile/annual pass, but are entitled to free transportation, must obtain a smart card with the "Resident of SMŽ" profile/annual pass at a cost of EUR 2.65, valid from July 1 to December 31, 2026. 

To create a smart card, it is necessary to fill out a request and attach a photo, identification document or certificate of residence/domicile in the cities of Petrinja, Glina, Sisak and Hrvatska Kostajnica and the municipalities of Lekenik, Sunja, Donji Kukuruzari, Majur, Dvor, Topusko, Gvozd, Jasenovac, Hrvatska Dubica and Martinska Ves. 

Smart card requests and the necessary documents are submitted at the ticket office.

The transition period for issuing smart cards to new users is until July 31, 2026. Until then, passengers will exercise their right to free transport based on an identification document or a certificate of residence in the cities of Petrinja, Glina, Sisak, and Hrvatska Kostajnica, as well as the municipalities of Lekenik, Sunja, Donji Kukuruzari, Majur, Dvor, Topusko, Gvozd, Jasenovac, Hrvatska Dubica, and Martinska Ves.
